A Journey

A Journey

I am about to embark on a journey – one I want my readers to come along with me on. It will include some videos that others have made, and some I will make myself.

On this Journey, I hope to answer the impossible question as to whether or not Reincarnation is real. I have created this category on my blog specifically for the purpose of investigating this phenomenon. You will learn, as I learn, whether or not this is real. Let me give you some background on ME.

I’m an average white American Male. I am, at the time of this writing, 55 years old. I believe in GOD, and I do pray. I love my family, children and grandchildren. So, as you can see, I am just like anyone else.

Recently, there have been a number of deaths in my family, ranging in age from 70 years old all the way down to the young 30’s. I readily admit, that one day I was sitting around, grieving and feeling sorry for myself a bit. A question came to mind. The question was, “So, is that it? That’s all there is, we live and die, then go to heaven?” For those with the question already on your tongue, I’ve never believed in fire and brimstone hell. To me, I think hell (I had heard this somewhere before) is a place where you relieve your worst day in your life over and over again. I’d like to think I don’t have to worry about that though. Anyway, this blog is not about me, it’s about reincarnation.

There are arguments both for and against the thought of reincarnation. At the end of the day, what it all really comes down to of course, is faith and belief. So, understand there can be no real way of proving the concept either way. For my way of thinking, I will tell you right now, that while I do indeed firmly believe in GOD, I also believe that anything is possible. I’m slowly starting to think that it’s actually part of GOD’s plan that we do reincarnate, though I am not quite there. I will explain to you in my final thoughts why I have come to think this is a possibility.

In this series We are going to look at both sides and then I will give my final thoughts. I will give references throughout the text, so that you are able to link through and verify the source material I have used to create this series. I don’t want anyone thinking I have stolen someone else’s work. Besides – I don’t want to try to capitalize on the work of others. They deserve the recognition for their thoughts and ideas.

So, that said, Let’s move on, shall we?

To begin with, I will say that those that have a strong belief in reincarnation include the Asian religions of Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism. The Christian faith, Catholic faith and Jewish faith do not believe in reincarnation. HOWEVER, there were seven books removed from the bible as you will learn later on, that were called Apocrypha. These seven books supposedly were not able to be verified as factual, but there are mentions of reincarnation within those books. Though I still have a great deal of research to do, it seems that reincarnation used to be taught through the Christian faith. There is also one instance where a Catholic sect had taught reincarnation. We will speak of that later as well.

So, prepare yourself. We will begin to delve into this concept, deeply, and I will be posting the research of the previous week on each Saturday. I will title each post CHAPTER ONE and so on. In the meantime, I am providing a video here to give you some food for thought.
