I typically don’t get political. In my line of work, it does not pay to do so, because everyone has a different opinion and those opinions, as they should be, revolve around what we as individuals believe is right and of course, what is right for us.
We don’t need extremists in office on EITHER SIDE OF THE AISLE. It’s unproductive and is largely responsible for the strife that individuals are feeling right now.
Donald Trump has been voted out. PERIOD. The election was not stolen. There was not mass fraud across the United States that took the election from him. There has been NO CREDIBLE EVIDENCE that this has happened. Donald Trump has perpetuated many, many lies while he was in office. Let’s face it, THEY ALL DO from one degree to another. Even as president Joe Biden sits in office, he still makes baseless claims.
Further to Trump, anyone with a little common sense knows, that when you have a group of pissed off people gathered around you, words can be interpreted improperly. In this case however, they were interpreted properly, because he said “Now, it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy. And after this, we’re going to walk down, and I’ll be there with you, we’re going to walk down, we’re going to walk down.” He also went on to say “If you you don’t fight like hell, you won’t have a country.” Then you have Rudy Giuliani saying “let’s have a trial by combat“, and finally you have Mo Brooks telling people we’re going to kick ass and take names.
Make no mistake folks. This is indeed, inciting a riot and insurrection. The lies continue until now as I write this.
During the first election, Trump regularly stated that if he lost, then there was voter fraud. Hillary of course won the popular vote but Donald Trump still won the electoral college. That was four years ago, Trump won, and the people accepted that. This time around, Biden won the popular vote, AND he won the electoral college, but Trump, without any evidence, still claims election fraud.
As far as the electoral college is concerned, I am one of the many that do not like that system. I understand why our forefathers put it into place, but times have changed. I believe that this needs reform. The election of the highest office in the United States needs to be decided by the people. Had that been in place, Trump would never have been President of the United States to begin with. I’m not saying Hillary is any better, but the election results would have been drastically different.
It goes on an on and on. I could fill an entire server with just Donald J. Trump. He’s no longer President of the United States. It needs to stop.
Then you have Marjorie Taylor Greene. This lady is WAAAAAYYYYYY out there. She says there is no evidence that any plane hit the tower in New York City on 9/11. What is she smoking? I guess someone got a movie maker to use CGI to make it look like two rather large airplanes drove into the tower.
Marjorie Taylor Greene, also says school shootings, like Sandy Hook and Parkland, were staged. She even went so far as to harass a student.
Marjorie Taylor Greene also endorsed shooting Nancy Pelosi. What happened there, was someone posted on Facebook that there should be a bullet put into the head of Nancy Pelosi. She “liked” that comment. On Facebook, the more a comment is liked, the more attention it gets.
Our leaders are our leaders. There’s no room at the top for the kind of bullshit we’ve been seeing over the last few years. THAT’S what is tearing the country apart, and the largest population of republican leaders agree with this.
I’m not sure that following through with the impeachment trial of Trump is the right thing to do. I’ve been largely ignoring the situation. Frankly, it takes attention away from more important matters. Indeed, all of this is taking attention away from more important matters. What I would like to see in the end though, is Trump being barred from running again, and in fact, I would like to see anyone like Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene barred from running for any office, because they are dangerous to the country.
On the day of the riot, after Trump, Giuliani and the others had their say, I posted on Facebook that people were going to end up getting hurt that day. We ended up with five people dead – three because of health issues and two others because of the violence. One of them, a Capitol Police Officer who was simply doing his job. he other was a lady who was in the first wave to breach the Capitol building, who was shot by a police officer. Those deaths and injuries are all the FAULT OF DONALD TRUMP.
Aside from Civil War times, I cannot remember a time when the government was in such a turmoil and it saddens me because we elect hese people to make decisions that will hopefully make lives better. We’re big kid on the block. We’re supposed to be helping one another, but sadly, smaller, third world countries do it much better than we are.
Smaller third world countries have a better handle on stemming the COVID virus. The U.S. is the worst, and largely because Donald Trump poo-pooed around about it, and downplayed the seriousness of it. Now, at the time of this writing, 443,000 people have died. January was the worst month to date with 95,000 deaths in that month alone. I can’t help but think that if we would have enforced wearing of masks and other such precautions, we would be in a much better place right now. Instead, Trump flouted the wearing of masks, gathering people for rallies, in which 30,000 cases of COVID are linked to 18 of these rallies. All I can do is shake my head.
I know folks want a better America. We NEED a better America, but I’m sorry folks – People like Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene re not the people who are going to help make it better. In fact, they are making it worse.
