My wife bought this slicer for me at Christmas. I do the majority of cooking, and I love appliances that make things easier. We also eat a lot of lunch meats, plus we have parties from time to time. This enables me to buy the loaves of deli meats and slice them myself, thereby saving us some money on the high prices of lunch meats from the deli.
This thing is absolutely perfect! The one thing that I don’t like about it: The motor is small, like one they put into a power saw or a drill, so it’s a bit loud, but as I use power tools on a regular basis, I find it easy to look beyond that and see the convenience afforded to me in money savings, and help in the kitchen when I need it.
You can use this to slice all your deli style meats and best of all, you can set it to very thin to shave the deli meat, or you can adjust it to cut a thick slice. It’s also great for quickly slicing vegetables and just about anything else you want to slice.
Since it is smaller than a unit you would see in a grocery store, you would tend to think that it will try to slide around when you use it – this one doesn’t – it is equipped with non-slip feet to keep the slicer still while you are working.
The unit is easy to clean up with the ability to remove the 7.5 inch blade for washing and then reassembling when you are through. This is a great buy and I highly recommend it to anyone. It’s a great unit and value for the price.
